There is a great necessity for teachers to face themselves. If they don’t, they can’t face others.

"Teachers are other-person oriented and tend to forget themselves. They are often under stress, burnt out." Ah, that rings a rather loud bell for me.
The knowledge, warmth and empathy Weintraub talks about come as second nature to most good teachers I've met; however, keeping the energy flowing and the ideas fresh is a bigger challenge.
As I see it though, this is one of the greatest benefits of being 'other-person oriented': not only can you feed others' fire, but others are there when you need their valuable time, inspiration or understanding.
Sometimes it's not ghosts you need to face, but the real people around you.
